Enjoying Bali

Bali is the one of thousand island in Indonesia, the mystical island of Bali has a justifiable reputation as being one of the most beautiful and diverse destinations in Asia. Located a few degrees south of the equator between Java to the west and Lombok to the east. Bali, some call it the ‘island of the gods’, ‘the last paradise’, the ‘dawning of the world’ and the ‘centre of the universe’ are yet more names for this truly beautiful island inhabited by a remarkably artistic people who have created a dynamic society with unique culture, arts and attractive ceremonies. The lasting impression you are sure to have is of the friendly locals, with their warm smiles, welcoming you to paradise.

The most point in this island are:

Sanur – A quiet and restful resort which is Bali’s most established. The hotels are nestled along the shoreline, protected by a band of palms. A golden sandy beach gently slopes into crystal waters. There is an assortment of shops and stalls and a variety of inexpensive restaurants and bars.

Nusa Dua – Situated on the southern tip of Bali, Nusa Dua is the modern side of Bali. The hotels tend to be larger than those in Sanur. There is a modern shopping and dining complex as well as an excellent golf course nearby. The resort is quieter and more exclusive with a golden sandy beach, immaculate palm gardens and deluxe facilities which will enchant lovers of idyllic surroundings.

Jimbaran Bay – Unspoilt and located just 10 minutes from the airport, Jimbaran is blessed with one of the island’s finest beaches. This area has been more recently developed as a resort and consequently, the restaurants and shops in the area surrounding the hotels are less developed.

Kuta – Famous for its rolling waves, surfing and glorious sandy beaches, Kuta is home to some of the liveliest bars and nightclubs in Asia. It has excellent shops selling name brand clothing and shoes and is popular with western tourists from all over the world.

Ubud – About one hour from the main beaches is the area of Ubud and ‘real Bali’. It boasts spectacular rice terraces overlooking river valleys and intricately carved temples hidden away in the lush hill country. Also, renowned for its local handicrafts, there is a wide choice of shops with some beautiful items to be found.

Candi Dasa – Situated on the North East coast on a black sandy beach with a backdrop of stunning rice paddy fields and fascinating temples.

    Great info! To fill you in a little…next to Kuta you have Legian and Seminyak, that is getting more and more popular. Also, Lovina is an important spot on Bali :)
